Will cable bill collection appear on credit report?
by: Gerri

Whether or not this bill will appear on your credit report depends on whether the collection agency chooses to report it or not. It would be within their rights to do so if your account did go to collections. But some agencies don't report if the consumer pays immediately. I don't know what will happen here.

Have you checked your credit report yet? If not, you may want to do so to see if it shows up. You can go to AnnualCreditReport.com to check it for free with each of the major credit reporting agencies.

As we mention in Debt Collection Answers, this is one of those times where you would definitely want to ask -- and try to negotiate -- upfront. Now that you've made the payment you will just have to check and see. If it does appear, you'll find strategies for dealing with it in Chapter Three of Debt Collection Answers. (There is no guarantee of getting accurate information removed, but sometimes consumers are successful depending on the circumstances.)

Let us know what happens, OK?
