Bankruptcy debt

by Marie
(Florida)

PRA continually calls our home trying to collect on a debt discharge in a chapter 7 bankruptcy. A cease and desist letter was sent and we have the returned receipt with their signature. Still, calls keep coming in...FL State's Attorney decided to send me a booklet on Debt collection and fair practices. I guess they do the robot-responses also...really fair!

Marie - have you spoken with your bankruptcy attorney about this? Collection agencies are not allowed to continue to try to collect a debt that was discharged in bankruptcy. Please contact your bankruptcy attorney asap. If you did not have a bankruptcy attorney, please get help from a consumer law attorney.
