bank owed debts that were for fraud but denied

Do I have to pay back a debt that was originally owed to a bank that the bank denied for fraud? Is there anyway to appeal this so I don't have to pay? The amount is $4428.69 n the account was 4 years ago and I never got a letter stating that the claim was denied.

Fraudulent debt

I am not sure that I understand your question. However, I think you believe that you are the victim of fraud and do not feel that you should have to pay the debt that resulted from the fraud, but that your bank is trying to collect the money from you anyway. If I am correct, I recommend that you schedule an appointment right away with a consumer law attorney. You need legal advice and I am not an attorney.

Good luck resolving your problem.
