Bank Account Garnishment

by Adam
(georgia)

Can a single debt collector garnish my bank account twice for the same debt or make me pay the remaining balance after they garnisheed my bank account with outnotice of a law suit? From a different state that i am currently in?

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers.com:

Adam, it sounds like you need to talk with a consumer to help you determine whether or a debt collector has acted legally in trying to collect instead from you. It sounds like there could be several potential problems here, including the fact that your wages may have been garnished without the proper notice, and that the collector is trying to collect the same debt more than once.

You can talk with a consumer law attorney with experience in debt collection cases. Learn how to get low cost or FREE legal help with your debt collection problem here.
