A Debt Collector Withdrew Its Efforts/Settled/Original Creditor Back

Our lawyer worked with a debt collector and explained his clients (elderly woman) situation and this was after being sued. The debt collector withdrew its efforts and agreed to let it go. Now the original the bank of credit card is pursuing its efforts again and harassing us.Even when the debt collector dropped the suit and let it go? Is that legal? That the original creditor can go after the debt again?

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers.com: Since you are working with an attorney, you need to pose this question to him. It may be the same information he supplied to the debt collector will persuade the original creditor to back off.
